Raksha Bandhan 2026 - Celebration of relationship between brother and sister.

On SATURDAY 12/09/2026 PCSO 7002EA ALEEM and Inspector Gerry Mathieson attended the VHP Hindu temple to be part of the Raksha Bandhan celebration. MP Wes Streeting for Ilford North the local councillors Muhammed Javed - Zulfiqar Hussain the leader of Redbridge council Kam Rai Also the mayor of Redbridge attended the celebrations. As a sign of respect the ladies of the Hindu temple put a rakhee on the wrists of the visitors as a sign of commitment of protection to the communities they serve

Inspector Gerry Mathieson delivered a amazing speech to the VHP committee congratulating the Hindu community and the worshippers on the Raksha bandhan 2026. Also speeches were given by the Redbridge MP Wes Streeting for Ilford North, The Borough commander of the Fire Brigade for Redbridge and The NHS clinical lead. The speeches showed unity with the emergency services. It was a pleasure to engage with the Hindu community and respected figures in the community.  Officers engage with the places of faith, committees and worshippers on a regular basis which helps promote trust. As a result the event went well it was amazing to talk and engage with all the communities to organise further community events with the diverse community.

Clementswood are dedicated to the places of faith. The team works closely via email and Met engage to make sure any concerns or issues the community experience are listened too, and plans put in place to support and resolves issues.
